The 3rd annual 5KforJK  will take place on Sunday October 8th at Olentangy LIberty Middle School from noon to 2 with the walk beginning at 1 PM.  I would love to see all those who have supported me over the past 10 years be a part of this fun filled event.  The. 5KforJK is a non profit organization whose co founder is a Parkinson’s patient herself.  She is dedicated to helping those with Parkinson’s improve their quality of life by providing exercise and education programs.  Through these efforts the 5KforJK aims to reduce fear and empower patients to take control of their journey with Parkinsons.

There are over 1 million people in the US living with Parkinson’s, 90,000 new cases are diagnosed each year.  5KforJK  participants will be helping to raise funds that can help each and every person who is suffering from this disease.  While it is a free event to attend, donations are welcomed.  Half of our donations collected will go to the Michael J Fox Foundation for research to hopefully find a cure for this disease.  The other half will go to our local community to help newly diagnosed patients with a Next Steps kit inviting them to our community or to find a community that they can be a part of.  No person with Parkinson’s should be on their journey alone.
